The difference between a foam mattress and a spring mattress is scientifically documented and it can be demonstrated by means of an electronic measurement system. The two illustrations show what happens when a person weighing 50kg lies on a foam mattress. The measurements show that a foam mattress shows a significant reduction in pressure.

Memory foam was developed in 1966 under a contract by NASA's Ames Research Center to improve the safety of aircraft cushions. The temperature-sensitive memory foam was initially referred to as "slow spring back foam"; most called it "temper foam". Created by feeding gas into a polymer matrix, the foam has an open-cell solid structure that matches pressure against it, always returning to its original shape and form.

Upper layer - The latest third generation memory foam gel visco layer - consisting of gel particles fused with visco foam to reduce trapped body heat, speed up spring back time and help the mattress feel softer, cooler, dryer & breathable.
Lower Layer - Second generation memory foam layer. The foam bubbles or ‘cells’ are open, effectively creating a matrix through which air can move freely and reacts to body heat and weight by 'moulding' to the sleeper's body.
